Swift Sensors, a supplier of plug-and-play cloud wireless sensors systems for Industrial IoT, announced the release and deployment of its Manufacturing Analytics Dashboard in major manufacturing operations. The manufacturing analytics improve operational efficiency, according to its maker, by providing an at-a-glance view of productivity, utilization and compliance measured by Swift Sensors wireless sensor system. The development of the features in the analytics dashboard were driven by requests from manufacturers already using Swift Sensors.
Manufacturing Analytics Dashboard showing goals, utilization and compliance.
Engineers at a major aerospace manufacturer initially deployed Swift Sensors one year ago, which led to further adoption in other facilities world-wide. As a result, the manufacturer can now determine the actual utilization of each workstation on a shift-by-shift basis, yielding an ROI of 100x, according to Swift Sensors.
“Operational efficiency is the goal of all manufacturing organizations,” said Sam Cece, founder and CEO of Swift Sensors. “With the implementation of wireless sensor systems and cloud-based manufacturing analytics, any manufacturing system, regardless of age or network connectivity, can be monitored to improve efficiency.”
Most of today’s discussion of IoT and Industrial IoT centers on autonomous vehicles, smart cities and wearable smart devices. Swift Sensors has developed an Industrial IoT solution for the commercial market using low-cost wireless sensors and integrated cloud-based analytics. It improves the operational efficiency of existing and legacy equipment, which may not have previously had any equipment metrics or diagnostics.
