Despite India producing a large percentage of the world’s milk supply, its milk yield per animal is lower than that of other countries. By working with
Dell to implement an end-to-end “cows-to-cloud” strategy, Chitale Dairy has transformed their dairy operations and now has a complete system that monitors the feeding and breeding of all their animals.
Vishvas Chitale, Director, Chitale Dairy, explains, “By automating the collection of data from each farm, we have improved animal health, leading to increased milk yield per animal.”
Now, farmers can use their mobile phones to pull up information on each animal, and use this to better treat each individual cow. The company has also streamlined the efficiency of their distribution channels for faster delivery of milk products to consumers.
Dell provides the details of the Chitale Dairy installation, including products and services used, in their case study, “Dairy farming in India goes from cows to cloud with technology.” You can find more IIoT case studies and white papers in the Smart Industry Content Library.
